It's 1944 and the country needs steel - a lot of steel - to fight the world war. This Kewaunee Green Bay & Western gondola is spotted at the salvage yard, ready to take a load of scrap iron to the mill to be converted into new steel.

The gondola is Model Die Casting kit I modified a little to more closely match the KGB&W prototype, then painted and lettered with a Scale Rail Graphics decal set. Go here to see how I modeled it. I took the picture on the North American Prototype Modelers HO scale layout in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
