Green Bay and Western elevator and shops in Green Bay.
The Green Bay & Western built this large elevator in the middle of the
wye at their Norwood Street Yard. It was sold by the railroad in 1971 and still stands today. Besides the freight cars in the yard, note that
one track has passenger cars -- probably the GB&W's 50- series cars acquired
at the turn of the century. This postcard image comes from Tim Shipley, whose
late father Eugene Ross Shipley was a GB&W employee through his retirement. Tim's nephew Jameson is restoring a GB&W Jeep FC-170
truck.
The back of the postcard says “ Pub. By Green Bay Post Card Co, Green Bay, Wis."
