C-424 #312 still displays vintage colors at Wisconsin Rapids in 1969.
It's 1969, and the end of the red-and-gray locomotive paint scheme has
arrived. Alco C-424 still has the old paint scheme, while the other locos
in the yard are already repainted into the new all-red colors.
The caption of this 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" postcard from Railcards.com
(apparently out of business) reads:
Attention Alcophiles!
The Green Bay & Western has long been an all-ALCO Diesel railroad, making
it a must visit for die-hard ALCO fans, better known as Alcophiles. C424 #312
still displays vintage colors at Wisconsin Rapids in 1969.
