A 2-6-0 Mogul works in the Sturgeon Bay yard.
It's the heart of the Great Depression, and one of the
Green Bay Route's ubiquitous 2-6-0 Moguls is switching cars in the Sturgeon Bay
yard. In the background on the right side is the Sturgeon Bay
Grocer and Deep
Rock Oil. The left background has a warehouse and two strings of
boxcars in the yard. There is a combine at the depot in the far left
portion of the photo, with flags hung ready for a southbound departure.
This is probably a mixed train out of Green Bay that is working Sturgeon Bay
industries before heading back. The locomotive is on the 'main' and note
the chevron-style switch stands in front of the engine.
This undated picture was taken by Sam Roubal, from the collection of Andy Laurent.
It's a nice little picture of shortline operations on the Green Bay Route!
