RS-20 #307 passes Broadway Tower before heading across the Fox River
bridge to work Green Bay's paper mill district.
Broadway Tower controlled train movements through the interlocked GB&W /
C&NW tracks just west of the Fox River bridge. The 2000 horsepower RS-20s
(#305-308) were well suited to switching cuts of cars at paper mills in Green
Bay and Wisconsin Rapids. Andrew
Nelson took this photo on June, 1992.
For more of Andrew's work, see his book Green Bay &
Western Color Pictorial (2003), available from Four
Ways West Publications.
